Unleash your creativity and improve your English skills at our summer film camp in the stunning city of Wismar.
30.07.-05.08 & 06.-12.08.2023
For teens aged 13 - 17
"Lights, Camera, English!" This summer, our hotly anticipated, film-tastic summer camp where boundless creativity meets technical skills awaits you!
What awaits you at the LevelUp Film Camp?
Nowadays, most kids and teens own a smartphone at an early age and use it to take pictures and videos every day. What if they could learn to create their own movie trailers, commercials, vlogs and music videos? This requires little more than a pinch of film magic paired with qualified native English speakers who offer versatile workshops in one of Germany's most beautiful cities.
In this summer camp we will not only watch and analyze films, but above all we will become active ourselves. Together we will learn how to navigate the digital world with self-confidence, but also critically. We discover and create our own digital identity, discover our personal brand and explore the power of media to create content and develop our own media literacy.
In addition to various video editing programs, other tools such as drones, gimbals, tripods, clip-on microphones, ring lights and more will be used... Let us surprise you!
Spoiler. This week's activities include a movie night, movie quiz, script writing, poster making, and unique LevelUp English games with crazy titles like "Fake News Detective," "Emoji Adventure," "Filter Fun," and "Hashtag Hero."
Our LevelUp Film Camp focuses on our holistic "English in Action" approach that ensures that English as the camp language is part of the natural everyday life. Through interactive-playful learning and creative workshops, we enable sustainable learning success.
Our pedagogically experienced trainers encourage students in their feeling for the language and their self-confidence in speaking, as well as providing individual support and encouragement according to their needs and previous knowledge.
The results of the workshops will be presented in small groups at our very own "Film Festival" at the end of the course, to which you are cordially invited to.
